Ramona High’s varsity golf team got off to a fast start as the Lady Bulldogs beat Valley League rival Valley Center 253-270 on the road at Woods Valley Golf Course.

Ally Harvey took the medalist honors by firing a torrid 41. It was the sophomore letter winner’s career low score.

Every other Lady Dawg shot in the 50s. Kammy Fitting shot a solid 51. Kellsie Domnitz contributed a 52. Kia Turner shot a career low 54. Kelsey Perry shot a very respectable 55 in her first round of golf ever.

Emily Vandervort and Catie Sundberg both shot 56.

“Emily shot an 11 on the last hole and still shot 56. Emily and Catie were both playing in their first match ever. I was very pleased with our play in our first match. The girls have a great attitude and played very consistently,” said Coach John Rathbun.

Winning on the road with a team of juniors and sophomores in a season opener is a noteworthy accomplishment.
