Ramona Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for the 2009 Ramona Citizen of the Year Award and the 2009 Ramona Business of the Year Award.

These prestigious awards recognize outstanding contributions made by an individual or a business to the Ramona community during the past year. Ramona residents are encouraged to nominate individuals or businesses for their community involvement, volunteerism, leadership, reputation, impact of activities, contributions of time, materials, ideas, and more.

Nominees do not have to be members of the chamber, and multiple nominations will be accepted.

This year’s Nomination Committee Chair, Patrick Meskell of Edward Jones, encourages Ramona residents to consider individuals and businesses that have gone above and beyond for the sake of a better Ramona.

“We all know someone who has made a significant contribution to our town,” said Meskell. “Let’s give them a chance to be recognized.”

Nomination forms are available at www.ramonachamber.com and at various locations throughout town including the Ramona Chamber of Commerce, Ramona Senior Center, Edward Jones, Java Hut and San Vicente Inn. Entries must be submitted to the chamber by Dec. 31.

Honorees will be announced and recognized during the festivities surrounding the Ramona Chamber of Commerce Installation Banquet scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 23.

Ramona Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary federation of the business community uniting the efforts of business and professional individuals to ensure a healthy economic and socio-economic base to benefit the entire community.

The chamber harnesses the potential of the private enterprise system and enables the chamber’s membership to accomplish collectively what one could not do individually.

More information is at the chamber office at 960 Main St., by phone at 760-789-1311, by e-mail at info@ramonachamber.com and online at www.ramonachamber.com.
