Among items on the Ramona Unified School District Board agenda for Thursday, Oct. 15, are two public hearings: one to discuss Global Tides Charter School’s petition to establish an online program in Ramona and one to accept comments about the district’s intention to receive state money for specific programs.

Global Tides Charter School, an online independent-based charter school for grades kindergarten through 12, has submitted a petition to offer its program to students in the Ramona district.

Representatives of Global Tides Charter School are scheduled to be at the hearing, scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the Wilson Administrative Center Board Room at 720 Ninth St.

Members of the public wishing to review a list of state programs for which the district intends to receive Tier III Categorical money will find it in the district’s Fiscal Services Department at Wilson Administrative Center starting Monday, Oct. 12, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The list also will be on the district’s Web page: www.ramonausd.net by Oct. 12.

Tier III Categorical money is for such state programs as the physical education teacher incentive grant and peer assistance and review.
