After eight consecutive wins, Ramona Boys Under 15 ended its Nov. 10 match with Carlsbad Lightning in a 2-2 tie.

It was an intense soccer game as Ramona defense held tight to fight off Carlsbad. Ramona offense continued to strike against Carlsbad and in the end striker Alejandro Rodriguez, scored two goals. Midfielders fought to keep the ball all on Ramona’s side of the field and continued to chip the ball to the strikers. With only two games left, the boys are strong contenders for first place in their division.

In an earlier game, team members celebrated winning their eighth game, 4-1, against Menifee Barcelona.

At the time, it was the boys’ toughest game of the season, with yellow cards pulled on both teams.

Goalie Jesus Bonilla denied several goals and allowed only one. Outside midfielders Dylan Loftis, Brandon Duarte and Danny Diaz fought hard against Menifee. Striker Julio Velasco scored one goal while Alejandro Rodriquez scored two goals. Jose Valencia scored the last goal for the team.

The defenders worked hard to shut down Menifee. This was the most physical game the team played and the players showed they should be at the top of their division. Coaches Szymanski and Loftis said they are proud of the boys and their determination this season.
