Big Week is Coming
What is “Big Week,” you ask? With the 29th Annual Ramona Rodeo a week away, it’s time for those of us who do not live the ranch lifestyle to get out our cowboy boots, jeans and hats and dress western to get into the spirit of the rodeo. And to help add some fun, The
Sentinel
is promoting the week of the rodeo as “Big Week.” We are encouraging all of the Ramona businesses and town folks to dress western from Tuesday, May 26, through the end of the week and to be sure and take advantage of all the different activities at this year’s rodeo. The Sentinel staff will be judging participating businesses to determine the winner of rodeo tickets and $100 hard cash on Wednesday, May 27. Call theSentinel
office to register, 760-789-1350.This year’s rodeo has a lot of new stuff going on from the cowgirl fashion show and dance on Thursday night, to the horseshoe tournament and barbecue rib cookoff on Saturday, to the Children’s Challenge Rodeo on Sunday morning; there truly is something for everyone. Congrats to the rodeo committee who has been working extremely hard to put all of this together and it should be a great event! So get your staff together however big or small and dress western for the “Big Week” of the rodeo.
Memorial Day
And let’s not forget to honor those men and women who have died while in military service. Please take time at 3pm on Monday for a moment of silence in remembrance and respect for those who have given their lives for our great country.Jeff Mitchell
