Two killed in Barona Mesa plane crash

Two people were killed in a light plane crash in Barona Mesa near Mesa Estates Road this afternoon, CalFire reports.

Officials reported that the experimental plane took off from Ramona Airport and was registered to a Ramona resident. The names of the victims have not been released. There was no fire or threat to structures in the area, CalFire reported.

Barona Mesa is south of San Diego Country Estates in Ramona.
