Moms are the best

Share

This Sunday is Mother’s Day, a time for us to honor mothers. Mother’s Day was created by Anna Jarvis back in 1907 to honor her mother who had passed away. After much campaigning by Anna, Mother’s Day became a national holiday in 1914. Regardless of the actual term you may have used, mother, mom, mommy, ma, there’s something special about the person who carried you around on average for 9 months before letting you loose on the world. And for some of us, our grandmother(s) and mother-in-law also played a very important role during their lifetimes.

As I was surfing around the Web, I came across the Web site “Mother’s Day Poems” and would to like share the following:

“Mothers cannot do it all

But surely do they try.

Mothers hear the angel’s call,

To comfort all who cry.

Mother’s bear the weight of all

For their children, they would die.

A mother’s gift extends beyond

All bounds of time and space.

Her lovingness and nurturing

Make our Earth a peaceful place.”

This weekend, take time to honor your mother. They never ask(ed) for much but are always very appreciative of whatever is done for them. And to all the mothers out there, including my mom, my wife, and my daughter (who is a mother-to-be), thank you for all of the support and all you’ve done for me over the years—I love you all very much.
