Ramona Stimulus Plan

Share

Instead of sitting back and waiting for some kind of government stimulus, stimulate yourself and shop local. There are a lot of great deals to be had in our town. Discounts are available at just about every business in Ramona; and we all need to take advantage of what we have right in town. Money that is spent with our local merchants for the most part stays right here. Even if it’s a chain store, the employees are more than likely Ramona residents. The Ramona Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Committee is working hard to provide a variety of promotions that will attract locals as well as folks from down the hill and beyond. I think all town businesses should get behind red, white and blue promotion with a flag outside their business. What a beautiful site that would be as people drive through town. Just a couple of local events this Saturday (which you don’t have to go down the hill for) include the Ramona Certified Farmers Market at Collier Park starting at 8:30am, and beginning at 2pm at Dos Picos Park is the Ramona Music Fest sponsored by Ramona’s Rotary and Kiwanis clubs. Family fun, music, food and more right here in our town.

In April an ice-cream social with music will help celebrate the presentation of two historic plaques for Town Hall and in May, The Sentinel will be sponsoring “Big Week,” which will take place the week of the rodeo (5/26-5/29) with everyone in town encouraged to dress western and decorate their stores or business. Sentinel and rodeo staff will judge the best dressed and the best business decorations with the winners getting rodeo tickets. One of the great things about living in a small community is that we have the ability to effect change rather quickly. Just imagine if we all shopped and dined locally for the month of April.
