Gallery invites community to experience the joy of art

Experience the Joy of Art is the theme for June at the Olde Ramona Hotel Gallery.

Anna Burkhart and Isabel Taylor are the gallery’s featured artists in June, and a reception for them will be held in the gallery at 845 Main St. from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 6.

Burkhart, one of the founding members of the gallery, found art while searching for a new challenge after raising five children. She has studied with Linda Doll, Nancy Christy Moore, Darwin Duncan and Nancy Oleksa, and is studying with Perietta Hester and Stan Goudey of Julian. She brings a happy, joyful and unique quality to her art and collages.

An award-winning artist, Taylor has been a member of the cooperative gallery for six years. She has had instruction from Oleksa, Lola Juris and Hester, and has been a student of Goudey for five years. Goudey encouraged her to express herself in brilliant colors and bold modern design.
