Kiwanis Club of Ramona has set the date for its fifth annual Bow Wow Pow Wow fun dog show for Saturday, June 13.

The event, which has grown in size and attendance each year, will be held in the Ramona Outdoor Community Center Pavilion. Registration will begin at 10 a.m., with the show lasting until 3 p.m., when the last of the many contests is completed and the coveted Best in Show is awarded.

This year’s show and contest will include contests and prizes for talents such as Best Costume, Most Beautiful, Most Handsome, Dog and Owner Look Alike, Most Talented, Best Tail Wagger and Best Kisser.

The Best in Show trophy will go to a canine that has entered at least two contests and won first place in at least one.

Many types of gifts and prizes will be presented and awarded. In addition, many prizes are being assembled for the auction.

Local and regional pet agencies will be represented, offering literature and samples as well as having dogs on site ready for adoption.

Food and refreshments will be available at the Kiwanis Chuck Wagon, and there will be a bake sale.

Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for children. There is a $5 entry fee for each contest with a cap of $20 for five entries.

Proceeds will benefit the Ramona Kiwanis Foundation to support local scholarships as well as children’s and senior charities in Ramona.
