The Role of the Publisher

Share

As with most businesses today, how to maximize their resources is the key to being able to survive the current economic condition. Mainstreet Media LLC (the owner of both the

Ramona Sentinel

and the Pomerado Newspaper group) has asked me to take on the dual role of publisher for both groups. So what does this mean for you, the reader? Not too much, really. I will split my time between Ramona and Poway, but each paper will still be reflective of what’s going on in that community. I will oversee the operations of both offices, but the heart and soul of the papers and their content will not change.

As some of the daily papers continue to struggle, community weeklies are faring much better. Our niche is and always will be to serve the local community with news, information, and opinions to stimulate dialog, to express one’s own point of view and to oversee that our town officials, citizens and businesses are held accountable for their actions. It’s also to offer advertising that informs our readers of businesses and services that are available and wanting to do business with you and upcoming events that might enrich one’s life.

So now I will have first hand knowledge of going back and forth on Route 67 and experience first hand what it means to be “The City In The Country” and share with you a perspective that may or may not be in the future for Ramona. I will continue to walk up and down Main Street, get my haircut at the City Barber and enjoy the sights, sounds and smells (food or otherwise) of Ramona. Being flexible has always been a way of life for me and I always enjoy a challenge. Have a great rest of the week.
