Share

Four architectural models proposed for a new library for Ramona will be on display in Ramona Library from Jan. 29 through Feb. 4. The public is encouraged to examine the four design/build models and comment on the designs proposed for the new library planned for 13th and Main streets.

Each of the four design team finalists submitted several architectural illustrations as well as one table-top three-dimensional model. The models will show proportions and the footprint of the building and how it relates to the site for the new library.

A comments box will be available for public input.

The target date for awarding the contract to the selected design/build team is early spring.

Design/build is a construction project delivery system where the design and construction aspects are contracted with a single builder or contractor. the architect and general contractor serve on the same team to provide the product. The benefit is increased efficiency and communication and a shorter construction schedule, county employees working on the project have said.

Ramona Library is at 1406 Montecito Road. Parking is in the parking lot accessed via 16th Street.
