California Mini Motorcycle Club (CMMC) held its 2008 Banquet on Saturday, Feb. 7, to recognize the 104 riders who participated in this year’s Banquet Series. Among them were 10 racers from Ramona.
This season, Ramona had two Class Champions, Starr Savage and Cooper Pribyl. Starr raced in the Minicycle 85cc through 16 and Cooper raced in the Junior Cycle 65cc 9-11.
Garrett Brown raced in the 50cc 7-8 Stock Class and took home the Second Place Championship along with the fourth place trophy in the Junior Cycle 65cc 0-8.
Matthew Duvalian raced in the Junior Cycle 65cc 0-8 and earned the 3rd place trophy.
Zachary Norton brought home the Second Place Championship in the Junior Cycle 65cc 9-11 as well as the fourth place in the Minicycle 85cc 7-11.
James Henderson raced in the Vet + 40 Class and took home the Second Place Championship.
Bryan Larson received the fourth place trophy in the Junior Cycle 65cc 9-11, and Brayden Lessler earned the seventh place in the 50cc 7-8 Stock Class, while Connor Anderson placed seventh in the Minicycle 85cc 7-11 and in the 85cc through 16 class.
Robert Swartz received a participation trophy in the 150cc open class.
Brown and Pribyl each received a special award for 100 percent attendance, and Savage was honored with the Most Deserving Award trophy. He was passed on the Perpetual Trophy that was established in 1973.
All of the motocross kids, teens and adults who participated in the CMMC Banquet Series were commended for their efforts. Those at the banquet agreed It takes an incredible amount of effort, determination and heart to compete in such a sport.
