Give Me A Break

Share

There have been a variety of things happening lately that causes me to stop, count to ten and then respond.

First—How can the financial institutions that have received taxpayer bailout money even begin to think that anyone is entitled to a bonus? A bonus is paid when you exceed expectations. And the lame excuse of having to do it to keep quality people is a crock. Give me a break, these people are part of the problem, not the solution.

And speaking of bailouts, why is it that with any proposed stimulus package, there is always so much political pork attached and no real accountability? Give me a break.

And why is it that at least two (which we know about) of President Obama’s nominees for cabinet positions have back taxes issues. Both of these guys are smart and make plenty of money and they didn’t realize they owed money, they were” honest mistakes” that are only being taken care of since it was brought to the public’s awareness because of their nomination. Give me a break.

How about some local issues like SDG&E threatening to sue property owners for not properly taking care of their land that resulted in the spreading of the wildfire; or the new Ramona water board changing the time of the meetings so working people have little or no chance of attending; or the post office with pickup times of 7:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. T his eliminates the opportunity for businesses to drop off mail after 5 p.m. to be processed for that day. Why not change the times to 8:15 a.m. and 5:45 p.m., giving people a chance on their way to work or on their way home. Give me a break.

And what the heck is going on with the SDCE Board of Directors and their recall election? And why isn’t there a stop sign in either direction at 13th and D streets? Maybe everything will look better with my 3-D glasses on.
