Registration will begin at 6 a.m., and fishing will continue until noon. After the derby, all participating youth are invited to enjoy a barbecue lunch courtesy of El Cajon Ford.

To prepare for the event, Lake Poway will be closed at noon on Feb. 5 and 6. The lake will be stocked with 2,500 pounds of trout for the derby.

Lake Poway will be closed to all adult fishing from 6 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

This is a youth only event, and all participants must register to fish during derby hours.

Parents are encouraged to assist children during the tournament but will not be permitted to fish. Motor Boats will only be rented to the parent/guardian of a Youth Fishing Derby participant.
