Concert to feature award-winning Felici Piano Trio

Share

The Felici Piano Trio will take center stage when the Ramona Concert Association presents its third concert of the season on Saturday, Feb. 21.

Founded in 1994, this piano trio has performed more than 300 concerts in Europe, South America and the United Kingdom. Members Steven Vanhauwaert (piano), Rebecca Hang (violin) and Brian Schuldt (cello) have won many competitions in music, individually and as a trio. Vanhauwaert, the trio’s newest member, won the grand prize at the Los Angeles International Liszt Competition in 2004.

Praised for impeccable ensemble, astute interpretations, and joyous music making, the trio exhilarates audiences with dynamic and polished performances, accompanied by engaging background commentary. This concert will include piano trios of Haydn, Schubert and Ravel. A rave review from a recent performance of Ravel states, “In the Modere movement, beautiful melodies were almost haunting in their quality.”

This trio has distinguished itself as a unique presence on the chamber music scene since coming to rural Mammoth Lakes in 1998 through a Rural Residency grant from Chamber Music America.

The concert will be held in the Charles R. Nunn Performing Arts Center on the campus of Olive Peirce Middle School, 1521 Hanson Lane. Doors open at 7 p.m. and concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. For those without concert memberships, single concert tickets may be purchased at the door for $15 for adults and $5 for children.
