Ramona BU15 soccer places third in tourney

Share

The Ramona Boys Under 15 soccer team came in third place at the Dave Shelton Memorial Tournament this past weekend.

Defense once again did an outstanding job, having the lowest goals scored against them in their division.

Ramona lost its first game, 0-2, against the Oceanside Breakers, a AA team. The second game against Scripps United, however, proved to be a highlight of the tournament with a 6-0 shutout for Ramona’s BU15 boys.

“They were on fire,” said coaches Jim Szymanski and Tab Loftis. “They exhibited some of the best passing we witnessed so far this preseason.

Their last game against Poway Vaqueros was a definite challenge against the AA team, but the Ramona team triumphed with a 1-0 shutout.

“The BU15 boys are demonstrating top skills so early in the preseason,” said Szymanski and Loftis. “Congratulations, boys.”
