Golf remains undefeated in league

Bulldog golfers won three matches at the San Vicente Resort last week. They improved their season record to 12-1 and remained undefeated in Valley League action with a record of 7-0.

Three Bulldogs earned medalist honors.

Ramona took advantage of its home course advantage and beat Orange Glen 199-238. Garrett Arnold picked his first medalist honor of the season by posting a 39 on the par 36 front nine. Drew Massey shot 39. Christian Rajcic contributed a 40.

Tyler Harvey and Johnny Lafata both shot 41. Joe Fotunato shot 44.

Mt. Carmel gave Ramona a scare, but the Bulldogs prevailed 201-203 at San Vicente Golf Course.

Massey shared medalist honors with Mt. Carmel’s Ryan Phife. Both golfers shot 37.

Moberg picked up a stroke over his counterpart, Jeff Hsiao, as Moberg shot a 39. Fotunato and Haynes both tied their counterparts by shooting 41.

Glendon Barnum’s 43 gave the Dawgs an insurance stroke as he shot a 43. Jake Lohman shot a 49. Only the top five scores are counted in scoring.

Ramona turned in its best score of the week as it beat Vista 196-231 in a non-league tilt, Haynes earned medalist honors by shooting a one over par 37.

Barnum was just one stroke off of the pace as he fired a 28. Fotunato fired a solid 39, Moberg contributed a 40, and Rajcic shot 42. Tyler Harvey shot a 50. Ramona’s top five golfers beat their counterparts in head-to-head play.
