Bulldog golfers suffer first loss
The Ramona Bulldogs suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of San Pasqual on the road. The Bulldogs are now 5-1 on the season and are 2-0 in Valley League action.
Every Eagle golfer beat his Ramona counterpart in the match. Eagles Mike Caston, Kevin Porter and Matt Ruetten shared medalist honors by shooting a one over 37.
Andrew Massey and Brian Moberg both shot two over par 38 for the Dawgs. Glendon Barnum recorded a 43 to his counterpart’s 37. Johnny Lafata shot a 44. His counterpart shot 39. Tyler Harvey and Christian Rajcic both shot 45. Their counterparts shot 41 and 43.
“There were some good things that came out of our loss,” said Coach Jerry Patenaude. “We started poorly but battled back. Drew started off five over after four holes but played the final five two under par.
“Christian Rajcic showed real toughness. He was stung by a bee and he is allergic, but he finished the round even though he was in pain. It was a non-league match. We will bounce back.”
