Ramona Back Country Quilters members held their biannual meeting recently to elect officers for the coming two-year term and to complete plans for the Quilt Show on Oct. 17 and 18. Susie Johnson of Ramona is the newly elected president. Assisting her as vice president is Candy Mittag. Secretary for a second two-year term is Lee Mary Heath. Financial officers are Brenda Caster, Janet Haas, and Cecilia Hart. New board members are Betty Adams, Eanne Hampe, Eleanor Kerbs, and Dee McClelland.

All the officers and board members live in Ramona.

The group discussed placing new signs on the highways leading into Ramona to promote the Quilt Show, placement of vendor booths, and helpers for the Members’ Boutique, a consignment room adjacent to the Quilt Show.

The Quilt Show will be the ninth annual show the group will put on in Ramona. It will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Admission is free. It will be held in the sanctuary of the Mountain View Community Church, 1191 Meadowlark Way, which is near the corner of Highway 78 and Ash Street.

There will be vendors, food, fun, and door prizes. The show is being called the “Best Little Quilt Show in the West.”

A drawing for an Opportunity Quilt made by the members will be held on Oct. 18 at 3:30 p.m. Tickets for the drawing may be purchased at the show.
