First Congregational invites town to annual fair
First Congregational Church will hold its Annual Harvest Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 18.
Women of the church welcome community members and the church family to this day of visiting with longtime and new residents of Ramona in Pilgrim Hall, the 110-year-old church’s dining hall. The church is at the corner of Eighth and D streets.
“You can anticipate winning wonder baskets at an opportunity drawing, eating great homemade soup and pie for lunch fare, and stocking up on wonderful cakes, breads, jams, jellies and crafts for holiday gift giving,” said Susan Ruputz with the congregation. “Church cookbooks and a produce area will offer some Ramona favorites.”
Tables will be set up for Cookie Lee jewelry, hand-painted china, Partylite candles, novelty crafts, plants, and items from Treasures Christian Store.
The church’s Senior High Youth Group will be washing cars in the back parking lot to raise money for the Winter Retreat.
Visitors to the old-fashioned fair are welcome to enjoy the day and maybe even a game of checkers with a friend, said Ruputz.
