Red Flag Warning through 4 p.m. today

Share

National Weather Service has posted a Red Flag warning through 4 p.m. today. The critical fire condition advisory for Ramona and surrounding areas may be extended if low humidity and Santa Ana winds continue. Only the coastal area is unaffected by the extreme fire danger warning.

Highest winds are expected this morning and humidities below 10 percent are predicted. Winds are forecast from 25 to 45 mph with gusts of 50 to 60 mph. Temperatures in Ramona are forecast in the 90s.

A combination of strong winds, low relative humidities and warm conditions create explosive fire growth potential. Wind gusts should remain below 35 mph tonight and Sunday, but humidities will remain very low the next few days, the National Weather Service reported this morning.
