Chamber accepts nominations for citizen, business, lifetime awards

Ramona Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for Citizen of the Year, Business of the Year and Lifetime Achievement awards through Dec. 31.

The chamber each year honors citizens and businesses for their contributions to the community at its annual Ramona Chamber of Commerce Awards and Installation Banquet. The banquet will be Jan. 24 at the San Vicente Golf Resort at 24157 San Vicente Road.

Anyone may nominate persons, businesses or organizations for the awards.

Ramona Citizen of the Year Award honors an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the community over the last year or more.

Ramona Business of the Year Award acknowledges a business or organization in Ramona that has contributed to the community by its impact, involvement, beautification, etc.

Ramona Lifetime Achievement Award honors an individual who has made continuous and outstanding contributions to the community over an extended period, usually a decade or more.

Among criteria the chamber’s Nomination Committee may consider for each award are:

• Community involvement

• Volunteerism

• Impact of activities

• Contributions of time, materials, ideas, etc.

• Leadership

• Reputation

Nominees need not be chamber members.
