Girls soccer loses to Poway

Share

Ramona High School’s girls soccer team opened its season Dec. 1 with a 5-0 loss to Poway at the Titans’ home field.

“Poway was just too good,” said Coach George Garcia.

Ramona’s team includes five returning players from the 2007-08 squad.

“It’s a really new team,” Garcia said.

Some of the girls had played together on the Ramona Intra team Garcia coached, but the Titans had a 3-0 halftime lead.

“It was eye-opening for the girls, and I think it was a good experience,” Garcia said of the season’s first game. “Now we know what we have to do to get ready.”

Ramona’s first Valley League match will take place Jan. 6.
