Bulldogs log in regional football honors for season

Fourteen Ramona Bulldogs were named to the 2008 All Valley League Football Team, and three are on the

North County Times

All North County Football Team.

On the All North County team, Kevin Guglielmetti and Mikey Head were chosen for the first team defense. Guglielmetti anchored the defensive line from his position at end. Head is a defensive back for his excellent coverage and his kick return abilities.

Tanner Hix is on the second team defense as a linebacker.

Center Brett Germain was selected for the first team offense as a lineman. The senior center was also honored by KUSI television and inducted into Shack’s Pig Pen.

  1. Germain is the smallest lineman that was honored this season.

On the 2008 All Valley League Football Team, Guglielmetti, Head and junior Seth Drake were named to the first team defense, Guglielmetti as an end, and Head and Drake as defensive backs.

Hix and fellow seniors Chuck Delacruz, Tanner Hix, Cody Lambert, Dean Faddis and Albert Jones were named to the second team defense.

Lambert and Hix were inside linebackers. Delacruz was named as a defensive tackle. Faddis and Jones made the squad as defensive backs.

Senior Christian Rodriquez received honorable mention as an outside linebacker.

Senior linemen Germain and Jacob Landmark are on the first team offense. Germain played center for the Dawgs and Landmark played tackle.

Head is on the second team offense as a wide receiver. He is the only athlete to make the offensive and defensive teams.

Senior quarterback Ian Hunt, senior running back Joey Dambrose and senior wide receiver Matt Laws received honorable mention All Valley League.

“Having 14 athletes named to the All Valley League team is an honor to our program and our coaching staff,” said Coach Damon Baldwin. “Every position coach had a player named to the all league team. Those student athletes worked the year-round on conditioning, weights and academics and earned their position on the all league team.”
