Residents will have a chance to see World War II aircraft up close at Ramona Airport April 23-25.
The Collings Foundation’s Wings of Freedom Tour will display and give tours of a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress “Nine O Nine” heavy bomber, a consolidated B-24 Liberator “Witchcraft” heavy bomber, and a P-51 Mustang fighter from 2 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, and 9 a.m. to noon Friday.
Cleveland National Forest representatives will be on hand to answer questions and address concerns from the public regarding the Cedar Creek Falls Trail and permit system at an open house from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, at the beginning of the trail in San Diego Country Estates.
With the arrival of spring, forest officials are seeing a spike in people hiking the trail, said Joan Friedlander, district ranger for the Palomar Ranger District in the Cleveland National Forest. The number of permits

Ramona artist Tracy Weinzapfel invites the community to “uncork your inner artist” at the Art & Wine event at Ramona Ranch Winery on Saturday, March 22.
All levels are welcome, including those with no art experience. She promises easy step-by-step instructions and will include all materials for an 11-inch by 14-inch masterpiece.

The public is invited to participate in the 2014 Wildlife Golf Tournament, hosted by The Fund for Animals Wildlife Center and San Vicente Golf Resort on Friday, March 21.
Proceeds from the tournament will help fund programs and services for regional wildlife. Fund for Animals, an affiliate of The Humane Society of the United States, primarily rescues and cares for native wildlife with the goal of returning them to the wild.
