SAN VICENTE VALLEY CLUB will start its new season with a luncheon meeting featuring Suzanne Miyasaki, principal of San Pasqual Academy, the first residential education campus for foster youth in the nation. Social time starts at 11 a.m., call to order at 11:30 a.m., luncheon at noon and program at 1 p.m. All are welcome. Award-winning artist Stan Goudey, a Wynola resident, is teaching art in several mediums on Thursdays from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the Olde Ramona Hotel Gallery, 845 Main St.
The class is small, so it is recommended that prospective students call early to reserve a space or stop by on
Nan’s Place at 638 Main St. in Ramona will hold an open house on Tuesday, May 3, from 4 to 7 p.m.
The shop is home to 33 vendors selling a variety of unique items such as jewelry, scarves, purses, soaps, candles, children’s wear, Christmas pieces, crosses, mosaics, hats, greeting cards, western articles and antique furniture and much more. Most of the merchandise is handmade by local artisans.
With gasoline prices what they are, Ramona area residents might think of staying in town this weekend. There’s certainly a lot of activity, whether it be entertainment or volunteer work—or a fun mix.
