Highway 67 accident blocks traffic

An ambulance and emergency crews are responding to an accident reported on Highway 67 near Kay Dee Lane. The accident involves two vehicles, a Honda and a Ford Contour, and, according to a person reporting the collision, there was almost another accident when a vehicle or vehicles passed at high speeds.
Efforts are under way to establish one-way traffic control, but northbound and southbound lanes were reported closed at 11:28 a.m.
No information is available about injuries, although one of the drivers is reported to be sitting on the road shoulder.

DRIVE THE SPEED LIMIT, GET THERE ALIVE
I agree with Debbie as well. I grew up driving 67, granted not as much traffic as now. I drive 67 twice a day and it's amazing how many people/cars pass me going to and coming home from work when I'm going the speed limit which is 55, not 65, not 70, etc. People like to blame the road, the gov't and anybody else for the accidents. When it's really the fool behind the wheel that's going to fast, talking on their cell phone (even though it's now illegal to do so), not paying attention, or reaching for something in their car.

Slow down and get there alive.

Get with the program California!
Slower Traffic Keep Right Signs are on every road in the U.S. The sign means what it says, not Slower Traffic Keep Right Unless You Are Driving the Speed Limit and give the rest of the drivers passing you on the right the finger. California is the worst state I have ever traveled in were drivers are always loitering in the left lanes. With the amount of time spent commuting everyday, people get pissed at the left lane loiters and try to pass when they can, sometimes causing these horrible accidents. If people would just move to the right when they are suppost to, hence the signs to remind you, we would see far less stupid behavior from other drivers who become angry. Until the police start pulling left lane loiters over and give citations for failure to obay posted traffic signs, like the 49 states do, more accidents are going to occur on HWY 67 and other California roadways. I see drivers on the 5 or 15 at 3 o'clock in the morning driving in the number 1 lane with no one else on the road. Quickly merging onto the highway and heading straight for the number 1 lane, then relax. If anyone wanted to bring California to a standstill, close down every number 1 lane on every highway in the state and the drivers in this state would not know what to do. Hey California, slow down and move to the right. It isn't a complex concept.

What's the hurry
Nicely stated Debbie. I drive 67 four times a day and am amazed by all the bozos out there. Right on your bumper one minute and a block away the next.
For all you crazy drivers out there, PAY ATTENTION AND SLOW DOWN---I share the road with you.

what a suprise....
another accident on 67...every day when I pass the crosses & memorials, I watch my speed and I NEVER speed, ever. Just yesterday on 5/19, this short guy who was barely visible over the dash of his big bad black truck was FLYING around Archie Moore & was passing on the right-he came right up to MY big lifted truck and I could not see his lights he was so close-I wish a CHP had been there-this is an everyday occurance-to many idiots driving, not enough CHP to nail them-slow down people.
