The Ramona High School boys golf team beat Francis Parker and San Pasqual in non-league matches last week to improve its record to 13-1.
“It was a great way to kick off our spring break,” said coach Michael Gainey. “We will be ready for a busy week upon returning from break with matches against Canyon Crest, Del Norte (league) and Valley Center (league). The team is anxious for redemption of their only loss of the season against Canyon Crest. Our top six will be ready for this match.”
In the 200-217 victory over Francis Parker four Bulldogs shot in the 30s. Thomas Andrews carded a par 36 on the front nine. Andrew Kaminsky fired a two-over-par 38. Justin Graf and Jason Morton turned in scores of 39. Dane Harvey shot 48 and Riley Hubbard shot a non-scoring 57.
Ramona used six different golfers in the match against San Pasqual at San Vicente Golf Course and won 204-222. Jacob Buckley carded a one-over-par 37 to earn medalist honors. The next four scores for the Dawgs were all in the 40s. Cameron Marshall and Kazar Matoian each shot 40. Michael Smith was one shot back with a 41. Cody Anderson-Parks shot 46 and Nick Elliott turned in a 53.
