CHP opens lanes on State Route 67 after small brush fire

Update, 3:10 p.m.—CHP has canceled its SigAlert for State Route 67 between Mt. Woodson and Poway roads after firefighters extinguished a small brush fire.

The fire, reported at 2:05 p.m., started on the east side of the highway between Ellie Lane and Mt. Woodson within the Poway city limits.

Update, 2:35 p.m.—CHP has issued a SigAlert for State Route 67, closing all lanes between Mt. Woodson and Poway roads due to a brush fire in Poway city limits.

The fire, reported at 2:05 p.m. started near SR-67 and Ellie Road in Poway.

Friday, Feb. 14, 2:25 p.m.—California Highway Patrol reports that it is blocking State Route 67 near Archie Moore Road due to a small brush fire in the 15000 block of SR-67 in Poway city limits.

The fire started at 2:05 p.m., according the the CHP website. No other information is available.

    I was there, waiting to go down the hill…police acted irresponsibly and gave no information, rather drove away, turning around with their arms out the window flailing, telling all to turn around with no directions. Me, being I'm not from the area, would be helpless, had I not been able to turn around, drive a while and then punch it in my phone for alternate directions. To find out it was open 10 min later is appalling. Terrible job on all first responders. Utterly pathetic.
