Youth wrestlers win medals at Beach Brawl

Ramona Wrestling Club, “The Pound,” took four wrestlers to compete in the 2nd Annual Beach Brawl at San Clemente High School and three brought back first-place medals.

The Jan. 12 tournament consisted of 400 wrestlers from California, Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico.

Bringing home first-place medals were:

•Carlos Valdiviezo, age 5,  47.4 pounds

1st match – Pin: 50

2nd match win by default Championship match -  Pin: 40

•Ryan Badgett, age 8, 62.2 pounds

1st match – 8-4

2nd match – Pin: 20

Championship match – 8-7

•Tyler Badgett, age 11,  88 pounds

1st match – Pin: 32

2nd match – 8-6

Championship match – Pin: 56
