Transportation services in Ramona

Several transportation services are available in Ramona. North County Transit District (NCTD) and Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) offer scheduled routes from the Ramona Station at Main and Day streets by the Kmart shopping center. Other options listed provide service to and from the home but require reservations.

NCTD Flex Service

Route 371 Ramona Flex Commuter,

Monday-Friday

•Three morning trips from Ramona Station to Escondido Transit Station at 5 a.m., 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.

•Three afternoon trips from Escondido Transit Station to Ramona Station at 2:15 p.m., 4:05 p.m. and 5:40 p.m. Westbound peak trips will deviate to serve San Pasqual Academy only with 30-minute advance reservation.

Fares for Route 371

•Adults, cash: $5.

•Seniors/disabled/Medicaid riders, cash: $2.50.

•Monthly passes accepted: any Coaster pass, including S/D/M monthly and youth monthly.

Route 372 Ramona Flex Midday

•One trip from Escondido Transit Station to Ramona Station and one trip from Ramona Station to Escondido Transit Station to Ramona. Reservations required. Trips may deviate from designated zone.

Fares for Route 372

•Adults, cash: $10.

•Seniors/disabled/Medicaid riders, cash: $5.

•No passes accepted on midday service.

MTS from Borrego Springs through

Ramona to El Cajon

•Service on Thursdays and Fridays only.

•Reservation required for customers with bicycles and wheelchairs. Call to coordinate trip at least one day in advance.

•Pending MTS approval, stops may be made up to 1 mile off route. Call at least one day in advance.

Fridays: Route 891 stops at Ramona Station at 9:30 a.m., westbound to El Cajon. Returns to Ramona at 3:31 p.m., eastbound to Borrego Springs.

Thursdays: Route 892 stops at Ramona Station at 9:30 a.m., westbound to El Cajon. Returns to Ramona  at 3:31 p.m., eastbound to Borrego Springs.

Fares

Fees based on zones: from Ramona to El Cajon is one zone; from Borrego Springs to Ramona to El Cajon is two zones.

•Adults: 1 zone, 1 way – $5; 2 zones, 1 way – $10.

•Seniors, age 60 and older, disabled, and Medicare customers: 1 zone, 1 way – $2.50; 2 zones, 1 way – $5.

•Children age 5 and under free.

Private transportation on demand. Wheelchair accessible vehicles available. Provides service in and out of Ramona.

RideFACT Rides for Seniors

Serves all cities in San Diego County and Ramona and Spring Valley. Provides general purpose trips for seniors, age 60 and older, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week. Reservations requested by calling 888-924-3228 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Trips may be requested up to seven days in advance.

Poway Adult Day Care Medical Transportation for Ramona Seniors

•For seniors, age 60 and older.

•Wednesdays only.

•From Ramona to a physician’s office, medical facility or pharmacy in Poway or Ramona.

•Free.

•Call for reservation.

Rides for seniors to the Ramona Senior Center

•For seniors, 60 and older, rides are provided to and from the senior center during specified timeframes for a donation.
