Design review seeks applicants to fill board vacancy
Ramona Design Review Board is seeking applicants to serve the remaining two years of Debi Klingner’s three-year term. Klingner, who has been on the board for four years and served as chair, said she resigned due to work. She recently started a payroll business.
Interested applicants are asked to attend the board’s Oct. 24 meeting at 7:30 p.m. in Ramona Community Center, 434 Aqua Lane. The nine-member board meets the last Thursday of each month, unless it falls on a holiday. Candidates must live, maintain a business, own property or be employed in the Ramona planning area to be considered for appointment to the board.
The board is advisory to the San Diego County Department of Planning and Land Use and is a required step in the development approval process for: all commercial development, industrial development, multi-family residential development on land zoned for more than 7.3 dwelling units per acre, and some major use permits.
Board members review project site planning, architecture, landscape design, and details such as signage and lighting.
All board nominations are reviewed by the county supervisors. Emphasis is given to those with backgrounds in architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning, fine arts, and construction.
