Country Wine & Spirits buys Daniel’s markets in Ramona

Country Wine & Spirits, which has a location in San Diego Country Estates, has purchased Daniel’s Market at 1360 Main Street and Daniel’s West on State Route 67.

The two markets were owned by Ramona businessman Daniel Vengler. They opened under new proprietorship on Sept. 23, with lowered gasoline prices on Sept. 25 attracting lines of customers in a “welcome to the neighborhood” effort.

requested by customers, “We’re for sure keeping the deli.”

Bachoua said they are expanding the liquor section and plan to bring in locally-crafted beers.

“I really want to focus on San Diego breweries,” he said.

He also hopes to add Ramona wines to the stores’ product line.

Country Wine & Spirits is community-oriented, said the manager.

“Without our community, there’s no us,” he said.

The signs outside the stores still read Daniel’s but they are expected to change soon to Country Wine & Spirits.

With the two recent acquisitions, the company has about nine locations in the county, said Bachoua.

    Good. Hopefully the new owner will make those places a lot nicer.

    Does this mean the prices at these two stores will be higher like they are in the Estates or is the Estates higher only because you pay the price or drive to town? so community oriented.
