San Vicente Road reopened after three-vehicle accident
UPDATE: A three-vehicle accident that sent one person to the hospital blocked San Vicente Road in both directions east of Wildcat Canyon Road about 12:45 p.m. Monday.
The road was reopened just before 2 p.m.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Dan Matthews, the driver of a green Dodge pickup truck was eastbound and lost control, crossing over the double yellow line and clipping a black Nissan Altima in the westbound lane.
The 20-year-old female driver of the Altima complained of chest pain and was transported to Palomar Medical Center, said Matthews.
Traveling behind the green truck was a gray Toyota Tundra pickup truck, the CHP officer said.
The driver of that truck, 22-year-old Jose Ramirez, said he saw the Altima coming toward him and swerved to the right. His truck ended on the south side of the road,
partially in a bush.
“I saw the car spin out a couple of times,” he said.
The green truck came to rest a little farther east on the north side of San Vicente Road, wedged above a couple of boulders.
The drivers of each of the vehicle were the sole occupants, said Matthews.
