Born in San Francisco, California, on 20 July, 1938
Birth Name: Natalia Nikolaevna Zakharenko (Natasha Gurdin) Ht. 5’ Died: 29 November, 1981
Natalie was the daughter of Russian immigrants and started performing at the age of 4, Happy Land ((1943). She landed a major role in Tomorrow Is Forever (1946) soon followed by Miracle on 34th Street (1947). Her breakout role came in Rebel without a Cause (1955) cast with James Dean and received her first of three Academy Awards nominations, all before the age of 25. Fans still love watching her as Maria in West Side Story (1961) and Warren Beatty’s love interest in Splendor in the Grass (1961). Her personal life was troubled with failing marriages and depression. She gave birth to two daughters, one from each of her two marriages: Robert Wagner and Richard Gregson. Natalie died mysteriously at age 43 off the coast of Santa Catalina Island. Her death is still under investigation.
