The Bulldog girls basketball banquet officially ended a very successful 2012-2013 season.
Coach Dan Marshall announced that all five starters on the Lady Bulldogs were honored on the All Valley League Teams. Sophomore Katherine Mauldin was named to the first team. Senior Niki Spring and junior Kailey Hill were selected for the second team. Senior Julie Ward and junior Christina Barrameda were given honorable mention.
At the banquet Mauldin was awarded the 2012-2013 Most Valuable Player. Hill was honored as the Best Defensive Player. Ward got the Most Hustle, an award that goes to the player who plays hard and leads by example. Barrameda earned the Joe Bess Coaches Award, which goes to the player that makes coaching a pleasure. Spring got the Most Spirited Award.
“This team was a lot of fun to coach. It was an honor and privilege to be their coach,” said Marshall. “We have a strong nucleus coming back. The seniors, Hannah Seits, Julie Ward, and Niki Spring will be missed but they have left their mark on the program. Their leadership and the example that they set will be carried over to our returning athletes and the athletes to come.”
