Don't lump Ramona teachers into "public school unions" Unions were originally made to protect employees from employers who took avantage of them. In recent times unions have gone beyond that and now are perceived as greedy employees trying to get as much as they can out of their employers. The teachers in Ramona are being taken advantage of. They are being asked to take a salary package far less than most teachers in this areas of California. You will hear Ramona teachers are one of the only unions that still get insurance benifits for their teachers. The truth is, other districts who have theri teachers pay for benefits pay higher salaries, so the teachers can afford to pay for their benefits. No other district pays the salaries Graeff is proposing and takes away benefits too.

Dear Guest & um wrong

Can you elaborate specifically on the "inaccuracies" in J. Dyers statements and please include the source of your "facts."

Exhibit A = J Dyer. If something is going to get done in this district to help our schools, it has to get done by the parents and teachers working together. No solution will come from the people who combine bad facts with anti-government rants to cloud the issues.

This article makes many nonfactual statements. It is obvious the writer is quite satisfied believing what he/she believes to be the truth. Ramona citizens should not be drawn in by these inacurate statements.

Forget about the government for a moment and ask yourself, "Do I support Ramona or not?" "What is good for Ramona?" Spewing out inaccurate facts does not help Ramona that is for sure. The question is do you want to get bogged down in negativitity or do you want to look for solutions for Ramona?
