Years ago, trees were planted right along roads in order to provide shade for drivers, and for the beauty of it. Those trees turned out to be deadly when people would lose control of their vehicles, and they moved away from the road.
While I'm all in favor of better driver's safety education (and I keep posting numerous replies along that line), there are some road safety improvements that do make sense.
Let's not focus only on the road, but let's combine road safety improvements with drivers' safety education.
I would have loved to see the San Vicente Road safety project include both.
So far, I don't see any plan for drivers' safety education, and everybody is focusing on the road.
This makes me believe that the new road won't be any safer. But if it does, I'll be the first to applaud and I promise to post apologies for my wrongful thinking in the Ramona Sentinel.

Amazing they can complain about the loss of the trees and ignore the loss of life. So fr the last San Vicente Road project, I took responsibility to ask the county for a 5:1 replacement ratio. I also worked to get the SDCEA to stweard 14 of the 60 trees we got. Only 14 was all they would take on. If the SDCEA BOD is SO concerned about the trees, why don't they take the lead on stewarding trees, instead of being so un-involved, in-compassionate and in uniformed on this road safety issue effect all the SDCEA residents.
