Saturday is last day to register for recreational basketball league

The last day to register for the Ramona branch of the Boys & Girls Club’s recreational basketball league is Saturday, Nov. 3.

Registration will be conducted between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club, 622 E St. in Collier Park.

The league is open to boys and girls in grades third through eighth. The cost is $90 for Boys & Girls Club members and $150 for non-members which includes club membership. A jersey, pictures, 10 games and playoffs, gym time, and league playoff trophies are included in the fee. Scholarships are available and free membership is offered to military families.

Assessments will be held on Nov. 5 and 7 at the Olive Peirce Middle School gym, 1521 Hanson Lane, with the following schedule:

Grades 3rd and 4th: 6 to 7 p.m.

Grades 5th and 6th: 7 to 8 p.m.

Grades 7th and 8th: 8 to 9 p.m.

League play will begin on Dec. 8. Coaches are needed for the recreational league. All coaches must submit a volunteer application and clear a background check before they can draft a team. Visit sdyouth.org to download forms.
