Mal,
Your comment is too general for me to specifically respond, but I will try. To begin with, there were many Ramona residents at the reported meeting. We all stated we were, just as you, in favor of solar energy projects but we were against WHERE this subject solar farm was planned. Ramona was never consulted before Solorchard, the LLP solar farm developer, started their search for property suitable for their "farm."
The LLP found a landowner who does not live in Ramona and decided to throw their solar farm in Ramona's face. At the meeting the above article reports of, S.D. County Planning Commission Meeting, S.D. County Planning Staff and the Commissioners were to decide whether the project was compatible with the surroundings in the neighborhood. I assume that because the Staff and Commissioners were stupid, blind or both, they approved the project.
If I can clarify the matter any further please call me, I'm in the phone book.

Should we destroy our last remaining farm land in the process? There were other locations for this project in Ramona. It does not belong in our cow fields along one of our most traveled roads.

We could always just keep burning our fossil fuels if we don't start allowing these types of projects to go ahead!
