By Neal Putnam

A felony charge of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated was filed July 30 against Harold Lee Green Jr., 49, of Ramona, for the 2011 death of his passenger in a car crash on Ashley Road.

Green was sent a notify letter from the District Attorney’s office that told him to report to El Cajon Superior Court on Aug. 22 for arraignment.

Mark Jones, 52, was killed on Nov. 13, 2011, in a crash on Ashley Road just south of Telford Lane in Ramona. Another passenger, Michael McComack, was injured, according to court records.

Green has also been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol causing great bodily injury to McComack and driving with more than .15 blood/alcohol level, which is nearly twice the legal limit.

Green was also injured in the crash and was hospitalized. Deputy District Attorney Andrew Aguilar said Monday Green wasn’t arrested due to his injuries and the case was filed later after it was fully investigated.
