An expert on the threats of radical Islam filled Ramona Mainstage at an event hosted by Ramona Tea’d Thursday evening.

Brigitte Gabriel spoke before a standing-room- only audience of 410 about growing up in Lebanon and “witnessing the horror and terror this neo-jihad wreaks on civilizations, nations and societies.”

“After having lived in a bomb shelter for seven years, and having seen most of my childhood friends killed by Islamic militants, I understand from firsthand experience the chilling implications of this original jihad inspired by the Prophet Mohammed,” she said.

Gabriel, founder and president of ACT! for America and author of “Why Do They Hate? and “They Must Be Stopped,” was introduced by Michael Hayutin, San Diego ACT! for America chapter leader. She discussed the threats to the nation’s security and freedoms such as the growing threat of homegrown jihad; how terrorists are exploiting the United States’ porous southern border, often working with drug cartels; the growing Muslim Brotherhood threat and how Islamic sharia law is creeping into America; the increasing militant effort by Islamists worldwide to suppress free speech and criminalize any criticism of Islam; and how the history and doctrines of Islam are being misrepresented in public schools—among other threats against America.

A U.S. based journalist and news producer, Gabriel started her career as an anchor for World News, an evening Arabic news

program. As a terrorist expert, she travels widely and speaks regularly on topics related to the Middle East.

She has addressed audiences at the FBI, the United States Special Operations Command, members of the United States Congress, the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs, members of the British Parliament’s House of Commons, the Prime Minister of Australia, and the Joint Forces Staff College, among others.

She has faced down critics, death threats, and political correctness, and is one of the most sought-after terrorism experts in the world.

“They must be stopped” is her clarion call to action.

Gabriel addresses the historical and religious basis of radical Islam, its encroachment into societies around the world, and its abuses of democracy in the name of religion.
