Free seminar to focus on new light bulb rules

Ransom Brothers True Value and Kitchen Barn are teaming up to sponsor a free Light Bulb Educational Seminar because California 2012 light bulb legislation rules go into effect on July 14.

The seminar, open to the public, will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 28, at the Kitchen Barn Showroom, 780 Main St., Suite G. Register for the seminar by contacting Kitchen Barn, 760-788-6900, as space is limited.

A representative from General Electric will be at the seminar to answer questions and discuss the following topics:

•Learn about updated California legislation, what is changing in the industry, and all the new lights available for homes.

•Analyze ways to reduce electricity bills using the various new products on the market.

•Understand how many options are available when it comes to light color, so the right color lighting is chosen based on a room and personal preferences.

GE has information available on its website: gelighting.com/na/consumer/education/lighting-legislation. Information on California’s light bulb standards can be found at energy.ca.gov/lightbulbs/lightbulb_faqs.html.
