Approximately $16,000 of the $25,000 needed for the 20th annual Ramona Rotary Family Picnic and Fireworks has been raised.

Fireworks donations are tax-deductible and may be sent, payable to Ramona Rotary 4th of July Fireworks, to Ramona Rotary Club, P.O. Box 276, Ramona, CA 92065.

Donation canisters are in Ramona businesses, and Rotarians will be in front of Albertsons, Kmart and Stater Bros. this weekend and next weekend from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. accepting donations.

The community fireworks and family picnic will be behind Olive Peirce Middle School from 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4. Games, food, activities and entertainment are planned and, as in previous years, the grand finale will be the fireworks backed by patriotic music from KYXY-FM radio.
