Ramona Food and Clothes Closet donates to Cornerstone
FOOD AND CLOTHES CLOSET DONATES TO CORNERSTONE—Carlos Murcia, general manager of Ramona Food and Clothes Closet, presents a check for $4,000, to be used to purchase hay, to Judy Beckett, executive director of Cornerstone Therapeutic Riding Center, during a riding lesson with Makayla Lucas, right, a sixth-grader at Julian Elementary School. Beckett said that with the donation she will be able to purchase enough hay to last through November. Hay prices keep going up and Beckett said she is paying about $320 per ton for Bermuda hay, nearly twice what she paid about 1-1/2 years ago. Murcia praised the Cornerstone program that works with wounded warriors and disabled children, saying, “We feel so strongly about what they’re doing.” Sentinel photo/Karen Brainard
