Ramona pitcher injured
Ramona High School graduate Nick Vincent’s bid to make the San Diego Padres baseball roster was put on hold when the right-handed pitcher stepped on a baseball in the bullpen and sprained his ankle. Vincent pitched in Goodyear Stadium on March 11 and picked up his first major league save for the Padres. He has a 0.00 era in three innings pitched so far in spring training. He is slated to be out of action for at least a week. The Padres assigned Nick to their Triple A affiliate in Tuscon.
