Passenger trapped in vehicle

Update: As of 2:39 p.m., Julian Road was open to traffic.

One passenger was trapped in a vehicle with a tree preventing access due to an accident that occurred around 1:24 p.m. on Julian Road, just west of Santa Ysabel, according to the Caliifornia Highway Patrol.

CHP reported the vehicle went off the roadway and chain saws were needed to gain access to the vehicle. The victim appeared conscious and a dog that was in the back seat was injured, stated the CHP website. No other details were available.
