Man steals cash from Nancy’s Cleaners

Police were searching Monday on the ground and by air for a man who stole a small amount of cash from Nancy’s Cleaners at 1668 Main St. around 12:45 p.m.

According to Sgt. Daniel Vengler with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, several witnesses saw the suspect take the store’s cash register from the counter but drop it as he started to leave the business. He picked up a small undetermined amount of cash and fled northeast from the shopping center on foot, Vengler reported.

The suspect is described as a white male with dirty blond hair, 16-25 years old, 5-feet 8-inches to 6-feet tall, and weighing 180 to 200 pounds. He was wearing a black baseball hat, dark colored hoodie sweatshirt and black shorts, according to the sheriff’s department.

No injuries were reported. As of late Monday afternoon, the suspect had not been located, the sheriff’s department said.
