Merchants association, business to sponsor ABC training

On Tuesday, Feb. 28, the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control will hold a Service Awareness Training class on alcohol responsibility and California law at Wynola Pizza from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This free, voluntary prevention and education program is designed for licensees, their employees and especially volunteers at local events where alcohol is served.

Typically, this 3 1/2-hour educational program is available only in San Marcos, but this is a one-time opportunity offsite to accommodate backcountry businesses and residents, reads a statement from the Julian Merchants Association.

Lunch will be available to participants before the event. Wynola Pizza, in partnership with the Julian Merchants Association, will provide an optional all-you-can-eat pizza and salad buffet for $5 per person. There will also be two 20-minute breaks.

Advance reservation is recommended for this complimentary class. For more information and reservations, call the ABC district office at 858-391-9303.
